A business plan is a formal written document containing the goals of a business, the methods for attaining those goals, and the time-frame for the achievement of the goals.

What is the purpose of a Business Plan? 

The purpose of a Business Plan is to identify, describe and analyze a business opportunity and/or a business already under way, examining its technical, economic and financial feasibility.

Traditional business plans use some combination of these nine sections.

• Executive summary. Briefly tell your reader what your company is and why it will be successful. 
• Company description. 
• Market analysis. 
• Organization and management. 
• Service or product line. 
• Marketing and sales.
• Funding request. 
• Financial projections.
• Appendix.
